Saturday long run. Ran relatively comfortably meaning I wasn't dead when I finished. I ran it in 2:21:24. Last year when I was running to prepare for the Delaware marathon, I think I ran too fast when training. I would feel like crap when I finished a long run.

Indoors (Treadmill) because of inclement weather. I ran it in 72:43. I get bored on the treadmill, but it is easy on my legs and knees

Welcome to the blog. That is an impressive distance on the treadmill, I would get board as well.

Treadmill indoors. It's snowing! I ran most of it at 8.7 mph. That's a little under 7 minute pace.

No running today. I went with a couple of buddies after school and walked 15 holes of golf until it got too dark. We usually play on Thursdays, but we had to switch this week. Back to the treadmill tomorrow for 10.

69:15 on the treadmill. I will run an easy paced 15 miles on Saturday. Next weekend will start the 20 mile runs on the weekend. That wil raise my weekly total to 50 if I run 3 X 10 miles during the week. Boston is 3 months away from Monday! I am anxious in both senses of the word. I am eager, and I am a little scared. I think I a scared because I do not know what to expect. This is all new to me.

You are so good to run on the readmill. I have the hardest time running on a treadmill for a long time.

Extremely windy and cold outside. I had to run 14 on the treadmill. Boston is 3 months from tomorrow! I am starting to get nervous.

Ten miles today in 70:42. I guess I am happy with that. Hey, is there anybody out there who is from South Jersey who is going to Boston in April? I live in Washington Twp...just across the bridge from Philadelphia.

Ten miles today. It was a nice day. I don't mind cooler temperatures when there is little wind. I had a couple of buddies who run go with me today. That makes a big difference for me. It seems so much easier. I am now going to take a couple of days off. I am playing golf tomorrow and then I will not run on Friday and then I will run 20 miles on Saturday. Sunday is supposed to be the nicer day, but if I run on Sunday, I do not think I will be able to run Monday. I'll see. Maybe I will wait to Sunday and just run less miles next week.

Steve....

How are you....thanks so much for the message and the suggestion. My greatest enemy right now is my confidence. My strength is my unbreakable determination. To many, running a marathon is just another week, to me it will be a lifetime memerable acheavement, and I know I can do it. My greatest fear right now is to commit to running one, then have to stop before I finish....so I will aim at running the Free Press marathon this October, and train the best I can...take all the suggestions from other runners on this forum....and enjoy the experience. No doubt, this will open other doors and other opportunities...such is the way life is!

I look forward to sharing my experiences with you along the way.

..........Brian.

I ran 20 miles today at my work course. It is a 4 mile loop with some small rolling hills on it. I know they are bumps compsred to what I imagine Boston to be, but it isn't flat. I ran it in 2:36:05. I felt pretty good at the end. I have run 20 miles before where I felt like I couldn't have run another step. I went out easy and tried to keep an easy pace around 8:00. I went by the 10 mile mark in 1:18:32. I went by 13 in 1:42:05. I was sore yesterday, but I feel a lot better today. I will go run 10 today some time. We'll see how it goes. I have a meeting after work. I'll have to squeeze it in somewhere.

10 in 72:42. I ran some of it harder (6:50) and some of it easy (8:00) pace. I would just run for a while and then pick it up for 3/4 of a mile or so. Then I would slow up for a mile or so and then speed up again.

I tried to run kind of hard. Well...hard is a relative concept, I guess. I ran a 68:52 which is pretty fast for me. I am reading some of these other blogs and there is a load of fast men and women out there. I am a little embarrassed to be running in Boston after looking at what some of the people on this blog do for training. I think I am fairly disciplined and dedicated, but boy am I naive! That's OK. I'll just keep plugging along and see what happens. I am beginning to get anxious about Boston. Am I in over my head?

I hope that you are still keeping up with the running. I hope that you are going to qualify for the Boston. That would be amazing. I don't think that you are over your head. It will take a lot of miles on training, but I think that you can get there. Good Luck!
